There nothing more terrifying than being new to the operating room as a newly graduated radiography.
Heck, even not-so-new rad techs can have difficulty operating a c-arm in the O.R. if they haven’t done it in a while.
And no physician is more demanding than a surgeon.
Am I right?!
So there a cheat sheet to help you remember which way to flip the screen during cases:
Take your time and get to know your equipment.
Print this little image out and tape it to your C-arm!
There’s wisdom in going to the room early and setting up, then playing around with the c-arm.
During downtime (shhh, don’t say that word outloud) you can be practicing with the manuevers of your c-arm.
Remember, YOU are the one licensed to use it. NOT the nurse…NOT the First Assist.
